Details: On March 4th 1998, the smart card industry came together to launch the world's first multi-application smart card operating system standards body: the MULTOS Consortium. Since then, over 100 million MULTOS smart cards and electronic passports have been issued to consumers and citizens in more than 30 countries around the world.
To commemorate the occasion, leading financial and identity issuers will share their experiences of deploying some of the world's largest and most innovative contactless payments, eCommerce, and biometric identity projects using MULTOS - including a world premier case study from of the largest deployment of smart identity cards and ePassports in the Middle East, and the world's first deployment of contactless credit cards for use in both mass transit and retail environments.
